Knauer Performing Arts Center, Saloon 151, Bier and Loathing, Hop Fidelity, Ginkgo Arts, Jitters and Kildare\u2019s Irish Pub.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Street-level, metered parking is free after 5 p.m.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Lancaster\u2019s popular First Friday (<a id=\"OWA65160a27-517c-9a3c-8dc1-c5fa4d81df1d\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.visitlancastercity.com\/first-friday\/\">http:\/\/www.visitlancastercity.com\/first-friday\/<\/a>) is an arts extravaganza that runs from 5-9 p.m. on March 7.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Visitors to downtown Lancaster will have the opportunity to discover innovative exhibitions, performances and perhaps a few surprises as they walk the streets lined with trees and distinctive architecture.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Unique boutiques and excellent restaurants complement the art galleries, artisan studios, museums, performing groups, professional theater, symphony orchestra and art college that form Lancaster\u2019s arts community.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Another First Friday event this weekend will take place in Old City Philadelphia (230 Vine Street and locations throughout Old City Philadelphia, 215- 625-9200,<a id=\"OWA61d8e66b-fd1c-24fa-0379-5dc91744e52f\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oldcitydistrict.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.oldcitydistrict.org<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">On the first Friday of each month, Old City\u2019s galleries, studios, shops and restaurants open their doors for First Friday, in an epic exhibition of the neighborhood\u2019s vibrant arts scene.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Old City Arts Association launched First Friday in 1991 to introduce Philadelphia to the improving neighborhood and the artists and designers who were bringing it back to life.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Two decades later, Old City is a nationally recognized arts destination, named in 2013 as one of the country\u2019s top\u00a0ArtPlaces by the ArtPlace Foundation.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">On the first Friday evening of every month, the streets of Old City fill with art lovers of all kinds who wander among the neighborhood\u2019s 40-plus galleries, most of which are open from 5-9 p.m.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-21237 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/brandywine-battlefield-park-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/>Pennsylvania Charter Day commemorates the granting of the Pennsylvania Charter to William Penn by King Charles II of England on March 4, 1681. This charter established Pennsylvania as a colony and laid the foundation for its government and principles of religious freedom.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Many historical sites and museums across the state, including the Pennsylvania State Archives and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) sites, celebrate this day with special programs, free admission, and exhibits showcasing Pennsylvania\u2019s rich history.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Brandywine Battlefield Park (1491 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brandywinebattlefield.org\/\">www.brandywinebattlefield.org<\/a>) will open for its 2026 season just in time to celebrate Charter Day on March 8.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The park\u2019s website offered this invitation:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Celebrate the start of spring at Brandywine Battlefield Park.\u00a0 This free event opens Brandywine Battlefield Park\u2019s spring season and marks the anniversary of Pennsylvania\u2019s founding.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Guests can meet historical interpreters, explore the museum, watch a short film about the Battle of Brandywine, and join guided tours of the historic houses.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The free event will run from noon-4 p.m. on March 8.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Pennsbury Manor (400 Pennsbury Memorial Road, Morrisville, 215-946-0400, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pennsburymanor.org\/\">www.pennsburymanor.org<\/a>) is celebrating Charter Day on March 9 from 1-4 p.m.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The free program at Pennsbury Manor includes exhibits, Living Theater presentations, blacksmithing, beer brewing, joinery, hearth cooking, and more.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">A wonderful display of 17th-century foods will be offered by the cooks, who will be on hand to explain the process of open-hearth cooking.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania (300 Gap Road, Ronks, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rrmuseumpa.org\/\">www.rrmuseumpa.org<\/a>),will celebrate the 345th birthday of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with free admission to the Museum. The Charter Day special is scheduled for March 8.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Additionally, the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania has a special event this weekend that is both fun and educational &#8212; \u201cReading on The Rails.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">\u201cReading on The Rails,\u201d which will be held on March 7, is geared for youngsters. Kids pick up their very own cardboard suitcase and use it to travel from story to story.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">They can collect a sticker after each story and create their own suitcase design with stickers, crayons, sparkles and other trimmings.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">As an added attraction they will receive a little gift to put inside their suitcase (while supplies last).<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Stories will take place at 10:30, 11:15 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:15, 2, and 2:30 p.m. among the historic trains in Rolling Stock Hall.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Some of the featured readers will be Barry Kornhauser, assistant director, arts campus and community engagement, Millersville University; Bryan Cutler, representative, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives; Regina Ahn, morning traffic and breaking news anchor, WGAL TV; Esther McBride, librarian, Strasburg-Heisler Library; Fran Rodriguez, senior program officer, Lancaster County Community Foundation; and Patrick Morrison, director, Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">KPETS, Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services, and Operation Lifesaver will be on hand throughout the day.<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Tickets are $10 for adults (ages 12-64), $9 for Seniors (65+), $8 for Youth (ages 3-11) and free for Children (ages 2 and under).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">With the Flyers and the Sixers chasing playoff berths and the Phillies in spring training, Philly sports fans are as engaged as ever.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-21238\" src=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ThePhillyShowGraphic-350x181.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"181\" \/>This weekend, they can take their fandom to a higher level by visiting the Philadelphia Sportscard &amp; Memorabilia Show, which is running from March 6-8 at the Greater Expo Center (100 Station Avenue, Oaks, <a href=\"http:\/\/phillyexpocenter.com\/\">phillyexpocenter.com<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Some of this year\u2019s autograph guests are Steve Carlton, Jose Canseco, Ray Lewis, Mike Piazza, Frank Thomas, Bill Barber, Jack Ham, Dave Schultz, Brian Dawkins and Jim McMahon.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The show will feature dealers from all over the country who will be selling a wide array of sports-related items such as game-used equipment, autographed balls, posters, magazine, game programs and autographed pictures \u2013 and plenty of Philadelphia sports memorabilia.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Visitors can also find a huge selection of collectors\u2019 supplies including protective sheets, binders, ball protectors and display cases.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Another major focus of the show will be trading cards \u2014 especially baseball cards.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Show attendees will be able to find everything from ultra-rare vintage Honus Wagner and Babe Ruth cards to the latest releases. All sports will be represented, including football, soccer, ice hockey, basketball, wrestling, Olympics and UFC.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Show hours are 1-8 p.m. on Friday, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Admission to the show is $10 on Friday and $15 on Saturday and Sunday. Children (10-and-under) are admitted free with a paying adult.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center is presenting two very different events this weekend.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">If you\u2019re a pet owner or just a lover of pets in general, there\u2019s an event for you this weekend at the\u00a0Greater<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Philadelphia Expo Center. From March 6-8, the huge convention hall is hosting the Greater Philadelphia Pet Expo.<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Expo features a huge number of vendors offering virtually everything pet-related including pet food, supplies, training, pet hospital information, treats and lodging. There will also be booths operated by humane groups and rescue services.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Show hours are 3-8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Admission is $20 for adults, $13 for seniors and military and $6 for children (ages 4-12). It\u2019s all about outdoor spacious, indoor oasis, and the power of story.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Outside, visitors can find a sense of peace and tranquility as they walk past textural grasses, seed heads and the dramatic silhouettes of trees that stretch up into the sky.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Inside, they can bask in a world of warmth that features an overhead garden of hanging baskets adorned with such vibrant beauties as jasmine, cape-primrose, and lipstick-plant.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Visitors will be able to enjoy a paradise of flowers and foliage, bursting with color &#8212; all in a beautiful indoor winter wonderland with a tropical twist.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Inside Longwood\u2019s Conservatory, visitors can check out nearly 300 blooming orchids on display in the site\u2019s Orchid House.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The gardens are open from Wednesdays through Mondays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until March 22. Hours change in the spring.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">As always, admission by \u201cTimed Ticket\u201d &#8212; tickets issued for specific dates and times.
