Photo courtesy DCCC.<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At a time when parents are struggling to find affordable childcare, Delaware County Community College and the YMCA of Eastern Delaware County have officially signed an agreement to partner in the YMCA Early Learning Center at DCCC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dccc.edu\/southeast\/\">Southeast Center<\/a>, located at 409 N. Lansdowne Avenue in Drexel Hill at the site of the former Archbishop Prendergast High School.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/cyedc.org\/locations\/lansdowne\/programs\/early-childhood-school-age\/\">YMCA Early Learning Center at DCCC<\/a> will offer care for 140 children aged six months through kindergarten. Currently operating in the YMCA of Eastern Delaware County building across the street from its future new home, it is fully licensed through Pennsylvania\u2019s Office of Child Development and Early Learning and is rated four stars by Keystone STARS, a system designed to improve, support and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs in Pennsylvania. Registrations are ongoing, with the Early Learning Center anticipating a June 2026 opening.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe new YMCA Early Learning Center at DCCC is such an exciting step forward for our Upper Darby community,\u201d said Michael Ranck, President and CEO of the YMCA of Eastern Delaware County. \u201cWe are expanding opportunities for working families, strengthening access to licensed early childhood education, and creating a place where children can learn, grow and thrive every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 17,000 sq.-foot, state-of-the-art facility will give children access to a high-quality, play-based learning environment that is safe and engaging.
