Ninth Annual Halloween Parade scheduled for Sunday<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Marchers are invited to participate in Kennett Square’s frightfully fun Halloween Parade on Sunday.<\/p><\/div>\n

Ghosts, ghouls, goblins and sundry otherworldly creatures are expected to create a spooktacular display during the Ninth Annual Halloween Parade in Kennett Square this weekend.<\/p>\n

Sponsored by the Kennett Area Merchants and Restaurant Association (KARMA) and Historic Kennett Square, the parade will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Families are invited to come early downtown, where children are welcome to trick-or-treat at participating\u00a0 businesses.<\/p>\n

The marchers, accompanied by music and floats, will line up beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Sovereign Trust Bank parking lot at West Cypress Street. Participants will begin the procession at South Broad Street and Cypress Street, traveling north up South Broad Street. \u00a0The frightful festivities will turn left onto State Street by the Kennett Inn and will continue along State Street, making a left on Center Street and dispersing back at Cypress Street. Immediately following the parade, the public is invited to participate in family-friendly Halloween activities at the American Legion Hall.<\/p>\n

Historic Kennett Square is inviting residents to vote for their favorite scarecrow among those created by local businesses and organizations \u00a0displayed throughout the borough.<\/p><\/div>\n

For those who would like to march, application forms can be found at www.historickennettsquare.com, where you can also vote for your favorite scarecrow – on display throughout the borough. To be considered for prizes, individuals and groups will need to display their number to the judges. First-place trophies will be awarded in the following categories:\u00a0 funniest, scariest, best kid, best adult, best pet, best performance, best group and best float. Winners will be announced at the American Legion following the parade and on the Historic Kennett Square website.<\/p>\n

Children ages 3 to 14 are invited to enter their uncarved decorated pumpkins in the Kennett Square Pumpkin Contest.\u00a0 Drop off your pumpkin at the East State Street entrance to the American Legion between noon and 2 p.m. on Sunday for judging.\u00a0 Complete an entry form to be displayed with your pumpkin.\u00a0 Categories are funniest, scariest, most creative, and most Kennett Square.
