Halloween isn’t a good reason to get scary with fashion<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Both of these photos were posted on Instagram and are PERFECT examples of what NOT to wear trick or treating on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

While the men in the audience refuse to accept this as truth, let me assure you\u2026.it is.<\/p>\n

First of all, it\u2019s much too chilly to be exposed in this manner.\u00a0 And, I doubt that either of these two gals are wearing flat shoes.\u00a0 In fact, I\u2019m going to go out on a limb and say that a four inch heel accompanies this get-up as part of the costume.\u00a0 Do you know the podiatric (that may be a made-up word) ramifications of such a stiletto?\u00a0 It makes my feet hurt just thinking about it!<\/p>\n

Even though it feels like 100 years ago, I do remember being a teenager and wanting to wear something \u201calluring\u201d for Halloween.\u00a0 My parents adamantly refused to honor this request. \u00a0Even when I went away to college, I never wore the risqu\u00e9 cat ears, black unitard and tail or the devil with the short red mini and pitchfork.\u00a0 Much to my dismay, I was always the gypsy, scarecrow, or football player\u2026basically, anything boringly wholesome and non-attention grabbing.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, I have two boys.\u00a0 So, I only have to worry about putting my foot down when it comes to too much gore.\u00a0 Scaring the wits out of small children should not be the mission of this holiday.\u00a0 But my girlfriend,\u00a0 who has two young daughters,\u00a0 is battling over why they may NOT dress up as Nicki Minaj. (Heaven help her!)<\/p>\n

Little girls today are inundated with Hollywood starlets who dress like EVERY day is Halloween.\u00a0 Not to get all \u201cTipper Gore\u201d on y\u2019all\u2026but it\u2019s frightening, isn\u2019t it?\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t want my kid parading around the elementary school playground dressed like Kei$ha or Brittney Spears.\u00a0 Dis-turb-ing!<\/p>\n

All the hype about Hurricane Sandy barreling up the coast may save many a mother this Halloween night\u2026although, the blood-curdling screams because trick-or-treating isn\u2019t possible may negate any benefit.<\/p>\n
