Touring all across the United States, it is a coup by the Kennett Flash to present Jessica Lea Mayfield live on Thursday, August 25th.<\/p>\n<p>At just 21, Jessica Mayfield is already a seasoned veteran.\u00a0 She began performing with her family\u2019s bluegrass band at the age of 8, touring on a bus out of Ohio.\u00a0\u00a0 Eventually she learned guitar from her older brother and they\u00a0 teamed up at open mic nights, often doing covers of the Foo Fighters.\u00a0\u00a0 She claims David Groh is a key influence in her music.\u00a0 Today Jessica writes and sings her own songs,\u00a0 many of which are traditional country\u00a0 ballads\u00a0 touched by a taste of mid-nineties alternative rock\u00a0 and soul.\u00a0 It\u2019s difficult to pigeon-hole Jessica as a specific genre; she has her own very personal styling.<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jessica collaboarated with Dam Auerbach of The Black Keys on her first LP, With Blasphmey So Heartfelt, which was released in September\u00a0 2008 release.\u00a0 Mayfield does the vocals and plays acoustic guitar, with Auerbach and Mayfield\u2019s brother David doing instrumentals.\u00a0 Says Auerbach of the recording experience, \u201cI think she\u2019s dark and moody in a mysterious way\u201d.\u00a0 Many of the songs related to \u201cfirsts\u201d in Jessica\u2019s\u00a0 ownlife.\u00a0\u00a0 Online magazine Blurt named With Blasphemy the Best Album of 2008 and gave Jessica the title of Best New Artist of 2008. The album&#8217;s opening track &#8220;Kiss Me Again&#8221; was featured on the CW\u2019s hit series\u00a0 Gossip Girl , and &#8220;Bible Days&#8221; was featured on CBS&#8217;s CSI:NY.<\/p>\n<p>Mayfield\u2019s second LP Tell Me\u00a0 was just released this past February.\u00a0\u00a0 The LA Times refers to the new album as \u201cessential listening.
