Giralt-Cabrales.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: medium;\">La Comunidad Hispana, Consulate of Mexico form partnership<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>An effort to promote health services to Mexican nationals, their families and those of Mexican origin moved closer to reality Friday as La Comunidad Hispana (LCH) and the Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia signed a memorandum of understanding to work together.<\/p>\n<p>Margarita Queralt Mirkil, president and chief executive officer of LCH, and Mexican Consul Carlos I. Giralt-Cabrales signed the agreement.\u00a0\u201cThis partnership is another step forward for LCH and our clients,\u201d Mirkil said in a news release. \u201cWe are pleased to be working with the Mexican consulate on our mutual goal of providing the best health care possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the memorandum is to provide and promote at the consulate quality bilingual, bicultural health-care education and to disseminate health information through one-to-one education contacts. Also, the agreement calls for help with finding health insurance for individuals and families, the release said.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->LCH, which will appoint a program coordinator and an outreach worker for the project, will be responsible for the implementation of the program. LCH will also report to the Mexican Consulate on the program\u2019s progress and will seek additional funding and health-care partners. The Mexican Consulate will be offering workspace, office support, and financial support, the release said.<\/p>\n<p>La Comunidad Hispana was established in 1973 as a community-based nonprofit organization to empower immigrants and low-income residents in Chester County to stay healthy, build strong families and lead productive, fulfilling lives.
