Back Row: Coach Rob Jones, Coach Chris Jarmuz, Joe Zirolli, Drew Jarmuz, and Coach Mike Pechin.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Kennett Kings, playing in the District 28 Senior League, had an outstanding season with a 16 and 1 record, and won the league championship outscoring West Bradford 27 to 10 (14-4, 13-6) in their best of 3 series.<\/p>\n<p>During the season, the Kings had great pitching depth paced by Andrew Jones, Alex Pechin, and Tyler Hoffman-Riordan, along with Joe Zirolli, Jake Freeman, and Henry Shafer.\u00a0 In addition, the Kings had one of the strongest hitting lineups in the league with 9 players (Eric Duerr, Dan Garver, Drew Jarmuz, Andrew Jones, Alex Pechin, Kevin Tallman, Chris Tucker, David Villafane, and Joe Zirolli) hitting over 400 for the season.\u00a0 In addition, Dom Testa was a catalyst with an on base percentage of\u00a0 .455, while Andrew Jones and Drew Jarmuz led the team with 24 and 21 RBI\u2019s respectively.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After finishing Senior League play, the 14 year olds took part in the Junior International Tournament beginning with a double elimination District Tournament hosted at KAU Senior Field.\u00a0 While the Kings were more than ready to make a run in the Tournament, the Coatesville pitchers did an outstanding job of keeping the batters off balance and won game one 4-3.\u00a0 Although the Kings had done well all year, with the early set back, they now had to win 6 straight games to win the District and win they did defeating, Lionville 12-2, East Side 4-1, Coatesville 10-0, West Side 10-8, Avon Grove 15-0, and Avon Grove 14-2.\u00a0 In the last game against Avon Grove 2, two run home runs; one by Andrew Jones and another by catcher Chris Tucker capped off the win.<\/p>\n<p>In winning the District 28 Tournament, the Kennett Kings are moving on to the sectionals in Newville, Pennsylvania, with an opportunity to advance to the states in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kennett Kings, playing in the District 28 Senior League, had an outstanding season with a 16 and 1 record, and won the league championship outscoring West Bradford 27 to 10 (14-4, 13-6) in their best of 3 series.
