He said Katherine Sharon first received a scholarship in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been supporting Katherine Sharon for two years at vet school and plan to continue doing so,\u201d said Allison. He said Sharon is attending Maryland Virginia Regional Veterinary School at the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Va., and has applied each year and met the criteria, he said. \u201cHopefully she will apply again so that we can support her again for her final year, 2014\/2015, as she plans to graduate in May 2015,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Allison said the bureau recognizes the importance of a highly trained work force to the regional farming industry. \u201cAll areas of farming require higher levels of education, but animal health is particularly critical,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said many veterinary students specialize in small animals and pets so having a student interested in large animal care is particularly valuable. \u201cThe Chester Delaware County Farm Bureau is indeed delighted to be able to support, even in such a small way, a student so hard-working and dedicated as Katherine,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chester Delaware County Farm Bureau wants to encourage her veterinary studies The Chester Delaware County Farm Bureau takes pride in providing modest scholarships to students who will be attending colleges as a way to encourage them to bring their expertise back into the farming community, officials said.
