Curtis Zebley is accused of shooting and critically wounding a Harrisburg man during an altercation early Sunday morning in downtown West Chester.<\/p><\/div>\n

The operator of a Toughkenamon auto repair business is in custody on attempted-homicide charges after a dispute on the streets of downtown West Chester early Sunday morning erupted in gunfire, leaving one man in critical condition.<\/p>\n

Curtis Zebley, 25, of Kennett Square, was taken into custody at the scene, said West Chester Police Sgt. Louis DeShullo. He said another West Chester sergeant on patrol in the area heard the shots at 2:17 a.m. and rushed to the unit block of North Church Street.<\/p>\n

One victim, who lives in Harrisburg, was rushed to Paoli Hospital, where he was initially listed as critical \u00a0with multiple gunshot wounds, DeShullo said. A second male victim was treated at Chester County Hospital for injuries sustained during an assault by Zebley, DeShullo said.<\/p>\n

The condition of Jason Hotchkin, 35, of Harrisburg, has been upgraded to fair\/stable, a Paoli Hospital spokeswoman said.<\/p><\/div>\n

Law-enforcement sources have identified the shooting victim as Jason Hotchkin, 35, a former professional soccer player turned youth coach. A spokeswoman for Paoli Hospital said Hotchkin\u2019s condition had been upgraded to fair\/stable. Hotchkin retired from the Harrisburg City Islanders in April 2012 after leading the team in goals scored during the 2010 season, published reports said. He now works for the Capital Area Soccer Association and was in the area for a soccer event, sources said.<\/p>\n

DeShullo said about six people were present when an altercation began, escalating when Zebley pulled out a handgun. He said both victims knew one another but did not know Zebley. He said that all the witnesses have been interviewed, and that Zebley would be arraigned Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

According to his Facebook page, Zebley, who attended Delaware County Community College after graduating from Unionville High in 2007, owns Curt\u2019s Automotive Repair LLC in Toughkenamon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
