KHS band battles local rivals; special performance by W. Chester U. band<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

After hosting a number of top area high school marching bands, including Kennett High School, in its annual March on the Brandywine competition, Oct. 19, Unionville High School Marching Band will perform an exhibition of its 2013 show, \u201cAmusement Park.”<\/p><\/div>\n

EAST MARLBOROUGH \u2014 Local high school marching bands, including Kennett High School’s band, will battle it out for top honors, Oct. 19, at Unionville High School’s annual March on the Brandywine band competition, from 6 to 10 p.m.<\/p>\n

This year’s event features some of the area\u2019s best high school musicians and color guard squads in friendly competition\u2014it\u2019s like one exciting halftime show after another.<\/p>\n

Judges from the Cavalcade of Bands, Inc. will rate the bands for precision, creativity, musicality, and complexity. Participating high schools are Rustin, Perryville, Bridgeton, William Penn, Penn Manor, Sun Valley, Plymouth Whitemarsh, Great Valley, Quakertown, Upper Moreland, Hatboro Horsham, Kennett and Methacton. \u00a0When the competing bands are finished, the Unionville High School Marching Band will treat the audience to a thrilling roller coaster ride by performing an exhibition of its 2013 show, \u201cAmusement Park.”<\/p>\n

Then, marching bands fans will be able to enjoy the precision marching, powerful music, and exciting color guard of the “Golden Rams” Marching Band from West Chester University.<\/p>\n

The evening concludes with an awards ceremony.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $12 adults, $10 students and seniors, free for ages 5 and under. Food, including our famous hand-cut, fresh\u2014never frozen!\u2014band fries, will be available for purchase, along with music-related items. Fun for all ages!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
