Independent Movie Series returns to borough tomorrow night at Flash

“Salmon Fishing in the Yemen” will be shown tomorrow night at the Kennett Flash, part of the Back Alley Theater and Independent Movie Series.

A bargain film with borough ambience is back, courtesy of Historic Kennett Square and the Kennett Flash, which are reintroducing the Back Alley Theater and the Independent Movie Series tomorrow.

Doors open at 8 p.m. for an 8:30 showing of “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,” a film starring Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt and Kristin Scott Thomas. Admission is $5. Prior to the show, patrons can enjoy the First Friday Art Stroll or Mushroom Festival activities.

The next film, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” will be shown on Thursday, Sept. 27, and  “Moonrise Kingdom” will be featured Oct. 25 at the Flash, 102 Sycamore Alley.

Next Friday, Sept. 14, the Kennett Flash will be enlivened by Leon Spencer and the Goodfoot Band, who will present a lively, kick-up-your-heels concert.   Draft beer will be available for purchase, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Kennett Flash and all of its community events. Tickets are $20,  doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. This concert is sponsored in part by Grieco Family Funeral Homes.
