State Police Operation Nighthawk nets 162 arrests
State police from numerous stations in and around Chester County teamed up with officers from twenty three municipal police departments to conduct Operation Nighthawk on March 27-28 2015. Operation Nighthawk is a specialized training and enforcement program aimed at reducing impaired driving.
A total of 127 State and Municipal Police Officers participated in the event.
State Police: eight die in Pa. holiday crashes
During the five-day Christmas holiday driving period, which took place from Dec. 24 through Dec. 28, 2014, State Police investigated a total of 728 crashes, the agency said Tuesday.
The crashes resulted in 224 injuries and eight deaths. All eight individuals who died were not wearing seat belts. Ninety-eight of the crashes were alcohol-related and involved two fatalities.
